Our Story

Live Intentionally

Know the ingredients coming into your home. Honor the planet. Make it from scratch when you can. Drink the good beer. No phones at the dinner table. Play the music loud. Love unapologetically. Take the high road (it’s always less crowded). Seek knowledge. Get outside. Take the extra time to do it well. All are welcome. You can be afraid, but don’t let it stop you for chasing your dreams.

Give yourself permission to do what makes you happy

Forest Ridge Farmstead is the dream of Jamie, Tabitha, our two children and the wonder pups Bear and Olive. We have never done anything halfway and Forest Ridge Farmstead is a testament to that. In 2017, we moved from our builder home in the suburbs to 9 acres in the country. The house had been sitting vacant for almost 2 years and was a time capsule from 1973, complete with wood paneling, blue shag carpet and avocado appliances! We spent 6 months on a full house renovation, sleeping in the living room and having Thanksgiving dinner served on paper plates with roasting pans being washed in the bathroom sink. As soon as the weather cleared, we had our shovels in the ground planting a garden. Perennial flowers came first, then veggies and chickens in 2019. In 2020 we doubled the growing space, built the greenhouse and launched #thelittlefarmstandthatcould. There are now over 60 chickens that free range almost every day!

Chemical free growing was a no-brainer from the start. It is essential for us to grow food and flowers that not only honor the land, but are also safe to bring into our home. And now we get to share the goodness with our neighbors in CNY. The first year of the farm stand was unreal. The number of people that stopped, 1, 2, 3 times per week blew our minds, never in a million years did we think we would generate such a loyal following. People genuinely appreciated the quality of the produce and flowers we provided and made sure to let us know. We have saved every thank you note that was left in the cash box. Thanks to all of you!

We’re excited to keep expanding, not only in the varieties of plants we grow, but seeing how long we can stretch the season. Thank you for joining us on this adventure, we’ve only just begun.
